I read Alan Moore's graphic novel several years ago and remember what a strange experience it was. I had no idea what to expect and went in totally clueless. After reading it I thought...is that it? Whats all the fuss about? Then it started to sink in...and I thought more and more about it. I reran certain scenes in my mind and actually thought about it. I realized after recently WATCHING the comic again (yes there is a new Motion Comic version on DVD) that WATCHMEN is truly the "To Kill A Mockingbird" of comics. There is SO much great stuff in this dense alternate reality of a 1985 that never existed, that it will satisfy comic fans, fans of great writing, fans of great art, fans of conspiracies, fans of...anything cool. I really hope the live action film does well...but I have my concerns... I'm sure it will open big...but it may drop off quickly...it will require its audience to LISTEN...to..WATCH....to THINK.... I hope our society will really WATCH the WATCHMEN.
