Those of you who know me well know that I LOVE the Academy Awards. They are my "Super Bowl". An annual tradition since I watched "bleary eyed" with my Dad when I was very small. Ive seen them all, Johnny Carson, Bob Hope, David Letterman, ALL the great and not so great hosts. Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) a noted "song and dance" man hosted and brought some great new life to the proceedings. I really enjoyed the musical numbers and the new more intimate stage as well as the nomination readings by 5 previous winners in the major categories. The showed actually breezed along (at 3 and 1/2 hours) for the Oscars. It didn't seem as long as usual. I was sorry that Mickey Rourke didn't win, overjoyed for Heath Ledger's family, overall...not a bad evenings entertainment despite the overrated "Slumdog Millionaire's" sweep.
