My "Dark Knight" Review

I can count the films on one hand that electrified me upon my first theatrical viewing. "The Dark Knight" is on that list. Believe everything you have heard. Its the greatest "comic book film" ever. It IS an instant classic. It WILL require many repeated viewings to absorb the details that leave you breathless at points. Oldman, Eckart, Freeman, Caine...ALL the supporting characters are given a chance to shine...they all serve to move the story. Christian Bale IS Batman. Christian Bale IS Bruce Wayne. You know and understand these characters. You care what happens to them. HEATH LEDGER IS THE JOKER. The other "Jokers" were just playing dress-up. This film is about decisions and consequences. The decisions will break your heart. The consequences are yet to be seen. *****
